Gruesome Playground Injuries

I was the scenic designer and painter for this production. I worked closely with the director and technical director to develop a low-budget set that created dynamic scene transitions and stage pictures for this two-person play. I used translucent plastic panels for the moving wall panels because of their low cost and weight, as well as their ability to be used as a kind of cyc. The large furniture pieces had a collaged dirty-towel application in order to support the more grotesque aspects of the play's themes. Additionally, I painted the stage floor to look like gray institutional vinyl tile, since almost all of the play takes place in different non-residential spaces - schools, hospitals, waiting rooms, etc.
